Piano Care

Regular Maintenance

  • Tune your piano twice a year (even if not played often).

  • New pianos: More frequently in the first year due to string stretching

  • Keep the action and hammers regulated for even response.

  • Get a professional inspection if keys feel sluggish or uneven.

Proper Placement

  • Avoid placing the piano near windows, direct sunlight, or vents to prevent temperature and humidity fluctuations.

  • Keep it away from fireplaces, radiators, and heaters to avoid drying out the wood.

  • Ensure even floor support to prevent structural strain.

Humidity Control

  • Maintain a consistent humidity level (40–50%) to prevent wood expansion or contraction.

  • Use a hygrometer to monitor humidity.

  • Consider a dehumidifier especially in humid seasons.

Cleaning & Protection

  • Dust the piano regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth (avoid wet cloths).

  • Use a damp cloth for cleaning keys.

  • Keep the lid closed when not in use to protect from dust and debris.
